Dark Skies, BBQ and amazing November sun!

So far we are having a lovely autumnal feel to October and November with plenty of guests from Dark Sky watchers to the start of Kielder Winter Wonderland. The Weddings are still very busy in Otterburn and we have a lot of wedding guest visitors.

I went to a great meeting about Kielder last week and now feel quite knowledgeable on the Kielder wildlife and "What's going on" - it's incredible the amount of activities to take part in at Kielder from the amazing Observatory to the Osprey walks - it's all going on!

On the farm front the cows are about to come in for the winter so the work begins with feeding and bedding and mucking out every day - it never ends!  Sheep are fed and checked and the turkeys are strutting around gobbling at anyone who cares to listen!  Both ponies are in at night now, fully clipped and enjoying the pampering that winter brings with it...

Youth is working for a local contractor at the minute so is getting to see a lot of the countryside which he is enjoying and he is still partying hard being in Cumbria this weekend after a night in Hexham until 3am - I wish I was young again, those were the days!!  Had a lovely night out with Spanners and his gorgeous girlfriend and her family on Saturday, they had an Australian cousin staying and she was tellling me all about a Python in their garden and Funnel Web spiders - and I complain about bluebottles!!!!  Daughter is full on with her social life and school and I have to say that I have been out three nights in a row which is perhaps why I look like Gods Grandmother today!  Husband, Daughter, Parents and I went to the Remembrance Service and Wreath laying yesterday - very humbling and emotional.

On the Pod front, we are now doing Dark Sky evenings with full use of the BBQ Hut - a perfect and ideal location to stargaze and have a lovely meal.  Please contact me for more details.  The "Pamper" breaks are going well with luxury chocolates, prosecco and hot chocolate and marshmallows if you are bringing children, again contact me to book.

Next time I blog, father Christmas will have been to the Pods - whoop whoop!

Happy Glamping!

Best

Deb
