We are situated in the heart of Northumberland National Park and have a wide variety of fantastic attractions to visit; from Kielder Water and Forest Park with the Kielder Observatory and the Bird of Prey Centre. There’s fishing, Hadrians Wall, Wallington Hall and Cragside, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the breathtaking Bamburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast. You will always have lots of options for days out in this historic part of the North East.

Enjoy watersports or fishing or simply chill by the lakeshore on Britain’s largest artificial lake. Enjoy the peace and quiet that can be found in the remote corners of Europe’s largest man made forest.

An evening event with a difference – an astronomical observatory that runs public observation sessions under some of Europe’s darkest skies thanks to its Dark Skies Park status! Booking required.

Hadrian’s Wall

One of Europe’s premier historic sites, the Roman Emperor’s “tax border” or defensive fortification is still a monumental sight to see! And it’s literally just down the road!

Alnwick Castle and Gardens

Soak up some real Borders history in the castle and then relax in the treehouse overlooking Alnwick’s finest garden park! You can even tread the locations made famous in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey!

Lindisfarne

Northumberland’s Holy Island where mediaeval monk, St Cuthbert set up the priory, which sparked the spread of Christianity throughout the British Isles. This place still carries a very special aura and is well worth a visit.

OTHER NORTHUMBERLAND ATTRACTIONS YOU MIGHT LIKE

Our local market towns of Hexham and Morpeth are just 30 mins away and well worth a visit. 

Just a 15 minute drive away, there’s a swimming pool in Bellingham which is part of the Riverdale Hotel, which serves excellent food. 

We are 45 minutes away from the thriving city of Newcastle upon Tyne which has some amazing cultural sights and fantastic bars and restaurants and for the retail therapy side, Gateshead’s Metro Centre is 45 minutes away. There are cinemas at the Metro Centre in Gateshead, Cramlington and Silverlink, all within a similar 45 minute drive.

We are in the Northumberland National Park Dark Skies area, what better way to see the stars than from the veranda of your pod?  All of our lighting is Dark Skies approved so that there is no light pollution.
